The Next Generation of Electro-Optical Imagers
The Next Generation of Electro-Optical Imagers
An innovative display that:
· Is covered by US Patent 10,885,828.
· Is fabricated using Si3N4 CMOS processes.
· Has several million color pixels per square inch.
· Provides contrast rendition better than current technology.
· Operates at frame rates limited by the CMOS electronics.
· Operates at any wavelength from 0.4 to 5 micrometers.
The figure at right compares the construction of a Waveguide Display projector with construction of a Texas Instruments Digital Light Processing projector. The WD requires only fiber coupled light and a lens, whereas the DLP requires a more complicated design. Further, the WD is much faster than DLP.
